Phase 2: Register online with Hockey Queensland.
Once Phase 1 is complete, you will be provided with a link to proceed to this registration page. This is the registration portal to Hockey Qld and Hockey Australia only and is a mandatory registration for playing. This is required before a player can play hockey with any club in Queensland. In some cases we may request a member to delay registration in this second phase until other actions have occurred. These will be detailed in the step by step process below. While this is a mandatory registration to play hockey, your club membership is not complete unless you have also registered through the Club Membership portal in Phase 1.
Important Information Before You Begin
If you are registering a player with the Roosters Hockey club that falls into one of the following categories.
then BEFORE you register this player, please make sure you have read the information below so that you are familiar with the process.
The registration process will allow you to purchase uniforms. Please note the club will be using predominantly Blue socks. Orange socks will only be required if you are playing in an Orange team. If you are new and uncertain of which team a player will be with, please don't order the socks at this time. Shop purchases can be made independent of registration if required, so it is not essential to be done with your registration.
At the end of the Phase 1 club registration process you will be presented with 2 payment options.
Step by Step Procedure
1. Is the player moving to the Roosters Hockey Club from another club? If no, go to step 2.
BEFORE you can register with Roosters Hockey it is always appropriate for you to first contact your previous club and request a clearance. This applies even for Junior players. If you are a financial member of your previous club, (ie all fees paid) they should have no reason to withhold a clearance letter.
The Roosters Hockey Club will need a clearance before we can accept your registration with the club. Please contact us at registrations@roostershockey.com.au with your clearance or if you have any questions.
2. Is the player intending to Dual Register with another club but make Roosters Hockey Club the Primary Club? If no, go to step 3.
If you would like to make Roosters Hockey Club your Primary Club. ie you would like to make Gold Coast your Association for representative level hockey, the GCHA requires that you first seek approval from the Roosters Hockey Club before Dual Registering with another association. For us, we just need an email to registrations@roostershockey.com.au to allow us to respond and confirm this is granted. If you played with another club previously and are intending on remaining with that club but wish to make Roosters Hockey your Primary Club you will need to follow the Clearance process outlined in step 1. 'Moving to Roosters Hockey from Another Club' above even if you intend on remaining with that club as your secondary club.
Once you have been advised you are clear to dual register, you may complete your registration.
You will then need to contact the Secondary Club/Association and register with them as a Dual Registration Secondary registration type or whatever type is associated with a Dual Registration with them. You will need to seek information from that club how they would like this to be done. Some clubs have it set up in the HQ online portal. Some will use a manual process to add a dual registration. That club should be able to advise you what their process is.
3. Is the player intending to Dual Register with another club and make the Roosters Hockey the Secondary Club? If not, go to step 4.
If you would like to make Roosters Hockey Club your Secondary Club. ie you would like to make a different Association the one for representative level hockey but still play hockey for the Roosters Hockey Club, you will first need to seek approval from your intended Primary Club to Dual Register.
4. Phase 1: Registering with the Roosters Hockey Club
You will begin the registration process by registering with the Roosters Hockey Club, including all the members of your family that are intending on playing with us or who would like to be a supporting non playing member of the club this season. At the end of this process you will be requested to set up payment details for the club portion of your total fees. Any relevant discounts will automatically be assigned in the checkout. This may also include anything you have ordered from the online shop.
You will have two options on the final page. To pay the club fees in total via credit card or to pay an initial amount to the value of 20% via credit card and then set up a payment plan to cover the remaining fees. Note: any shop items will require full payment at the time. These are not covered but partial payments.
Once complete you will be provided with the link details to the Hockey Queensland registration part of the process. See section below.
You only need to proceed to Phase 2 if you are a player competing in the Junior or Senior competitions. If you are registering for Junior Development Joeys, as a Senior Non Playing Member or Supporters Membership only, you do not need to register with Hockey Queensland.
